Hi There,
My name is Mischief (left). My buddy Kaiser (right) and I are going on a journey, not just any journey, an Incredible River Journey. We’re going to canoe down the Mississippi River, and we want you to come along.
We have two reasons for making this journey:
1. Because we want to.
2. We want to help our friends at mn4dq.org save the Delta Queen, the last authentic wooden-hulled paddle-wheel steamboat still hard at work.
Our plan is to start downstream of Minnesota’s Lake Itasca, official source of the Mississippi River, and canoe to Saint Louis, Missouri. Along the way I’ll send regular posts to my blog. Then you can “come along” via the Web. We hope to start in May. We expect to see a lot of great scenery and wildlife, visit many river towns, and meet some fun and interesting people along the way.
Our one big problem is that we don’t have the electronic stuff needed to do a really good job of it, and we’re just a couple of penniless mongrels looking for adventure. We’re not famous, but we did make a movie called Where’s My Frisbee?
I’d like to be able to submit decent video updates as soon as they happen, even go “live” sometimes. The best we can do right now is take still pictures and short video clips, no audio. To make submissions, I’ll probably have to find libraries along the way. If that’s what it takes, it’s what I’ll do.
To really do it right, I figure we need a small laptop computer with cell or satellite connection (and a separate phone), a digital video camera, lots of memory and batteries, and miscellaneous cords and stuff. Oh, and Kaiser says: “Don’t forget food.”
We’d like your help, in any way you can. Thanks.
Mischief
